When you are at the Main Matsuri:
Hosting a festival during one of the biggest global crises is not easy. There are many questions - both for us and with you. Here we will try to clarify a few of these points as best we can for you.
First of all, we would like to emphasize that the Main Matsuri Japan Festival can only take place under very special strict regulations. We must work with a large number of conditions set down by the health authorities which we have to implement to the best of abilities. This includes time slots, which are a requirement from the Ministry of Health. In order to fulfill our obligations we have created a hygiene concept that you can read on our website. This is updated as required so that you can always check the current status. Due to the course of the pandemic, the requirements, rules and prohibitions can change on a daily basis. We will try to react as quickly as possible and pass the information on to you.
The current status - according to the requirements of the state of Hesse and the city of Frankfurt - says that children under six years of age do not have to wear a mask. Adults who have received a certificate from their family doctor and carry them with them - in the event of an inspection - are also exempt from the obligation to wear a mask. This is also determined by the health department and may be checked by the police. Please understand that for the sake of your own safety we may also ask you about such things
The time slots, which you can book via our online shop from August 1st, are also a prerequisite for the festival to take place. These slots are allocated according on a “first come, first serve” principle. You can reserve several of these slots for free. At the entrance you will receive a coloured ribbon that shows which slot you have booked. After the three hours we will inform you from both stages that the time has expired and ask you to leave the area. Our team will then check this.
We understand that many of you find it annoying that you are only allowed to visit our festival for a limited time. However, bear in mind that this year we are trying to offer you the best possible experince to break the corona cycle. The festival is fairly central in Frankfurt, right on the river. There’s lots to explore outside the venue itself – and the nearby parks and Frankfurt skyline offer plenty of photo shoot possibilities for Cosplayers.
Special note for Cosplayers: Cosplayers who want to take part in our competitions do not have to book a specific time slot. With your registration you will receive separate access for the contest. You can find out more about this when you register.
Our merchandise shop is here again this year, full of great products. There are T-shirts and hoodies from the new collection plus event or mascot prints and strictly limited T-shirts from our startnext campaign. We also have other useful products such as shopper bags, masks, caps and tanugui. There is something for everyone. Live Event this year: we will print the strictly limited T-shirts for you ( all sizes up to 5XL ).
