Hans-Georg Olbrich is a musician (cello) and a physician. He studied music at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg and at the Conservatoire Européen in Paris.
In his youth, he won several national prizes at the “Jugend musiziert” competition—in the categories Solo, Piano Trio, and String Quartet—and was a member of the German National Youth Orchestra (Bundesjugendorchester). During his studies, he devoted himself to contemporary music through the “Varius Ensemble for New Music,” supporting and promoting modern repertoire across Germany and Europe.
After many years working in the healthcare sector, he recently returned more actively to the stage. Last year, he celebrated a small comeback with KAO=S at Main Matsuri, and in 2026 he is part of Sayuri Hirata’s band.
