NILO is a Japanese singer and songwriter with a wide range of talents. Her musical roots lie in Bossa Nova, but she writes diverse songs and sings in Japanese, English, Portuguese, and German.

She began her early musical activities in the Kansai region of western Japan and also worked as a radio DJ in Osaka, Nagoya, and Sapporo. In addition, she contributed articles to magazines covering topics such as music, cycling, triathlon, and outdoor activities. NILO made her major debut in 2007 with the album Bossa@NILO and has released seven albums to date.

Since 2011, NILO has been living in Germany, commuting between the two countries to pursue her artistic projects. Through her performances at Japan festivals and cultural events across Europe, she began singing anime songs and City Pop covers — and in doing so, discovered a new passion for these music styles.
