URARA Kishida (岸田うらら) is a Japan-based drummer and percussionist with a strong classical foundation and a highly versatile, contemporary performance profile. Born in Kyoto (1989), she started drums and percussion at age 10, and was a member of the Kyoto City Junior Orchestra from 16 to 22.
She studied classical percussion at the Kyoto City University of Arts, and—already while at university—performed extensively as a guest percussionist across orchestral projects in the Kansai region.
Today, Kishida works across genres: from classical stages to musical theatre orchestras (incl. Takarazuka Revue), crossovers with Japanese traditional instruments (e.g., koto/shakuhachi), and live/recording support for rock bands and singer-songwriters.
Since 2016, she has been an endorsed artist for Kyoto-based cajón maker Ryoten Cajon Workshop (遼天Cajon工房).
In 2021, she released the two-part CD “組曲 山羊の歌” with pianist Tanaka K-suke and toured a six-city release run across Japan.
