

Yoshimi Tsujimoto began playing the shakuhachi when she entered high school and later studied traditional Japanese music with a focus on shakuhachi (Kinko school) at Japan’s most prestigious music university, the Tokyo University of the Arts. She is one of the few female solo artists on the shakuhachi.
With exceptional technical precision and a warm, approachable stage presence, she is active in both traditional Japanese music and the pop genre.
Her musical activities extend beyond Japan. To date, she has performed abroad 53 times in 33 cities across 24 countries.
With great passion, she is dedicated to introducing traditional Japanese instruments to people of all ages around the world—a mission she pursues with heart and commitment.
