Yoyoka

よよか

YOYOKA, a 15-year-old drummer, has been playing drums since she was just one year old.
Born and raised in Hokkaidō, Japan, she performed live for the first time at the age of four and formed a band with her family when she was five. At the age of eight, YOYOKA covered Led Zeppelin’s song “Good Times Bad Times” and gained worldwide attention when Robert Plant recognized her exceptional talent.

In September 2022, YOYOKA moved to the US with her family to pursue her passion for drumming and love of music.

YOYOKA is the youngest drummer ever to be listed by Drummerworld as one of the “Top 500 Drummers in the World,” and she was also the youngest person ever selected for NewsWeek Japan’s list of the “100 Japanese People the World Respects”.

In October 2024, she released her first album, “For Teen”, featuring numerous musicians and producers — including Narada Michael Walden, members of Jamiroquai, and Marco Mendoza.

At the Main Matsuri, she will not only be seen and heard on stage but will also lead a drum workshop.
