In 2019, the Main Matsuri went into the second round from August 9th to 11th. Over 80 information stands, Japanese food stalls and a 24-hour live programme were all on offer, right next to the Main river at Walther-von-Cronberg-Platz. There was also the opportunity to take part in numerous workshops and learn more about skills such as calligraphy, sushi preparation, tea ceremonies - to name just a few.

The Main Matsuri took place for the first time from 17th to 19th August at Walther-von-Cronberg-Platz in Frankfurt am Main. During these three days 22.000 visitors came from all regions of Germany and from abroad. On a space of 16.000 sqm, 45 exhibitors from the areas of culture, sports, art, language, tourism, catering, food and drinks were represented. Additionally there were two stages with several performance acts. 44 musicians and dancers from Japan and over 60 actors from Germany performed there. A variety of events were offered in the workshop rooms, such as sushi cooking classes, manga, calligraphy and Japanese courses as well as lectures on Japanese culture and tea ceremonies. Aside from that two cosplay contests were held.
We were partners at the KAI KŌ German-Japanese Business Dialogue on November 20th 2019 at the IHK Offenbach.
