Yuko Suzuhana (鈴華ゆう子) is a Japanese singer, songwriter, and shigin (classical poetry recitation) master known for fusing traditional vocal arts with modern rock/pop power and theatrical stagecraft. She is widely recognized as the band leader and lead vocalist of WagakkiBand, a genre-defying act that brings Japanese heritage performance into a contemporary, high-impact sound and visual world.
Rooted in classical training, Suzuhana began piano early in childhood and developed her artistry through shigin and traditional performance disciplines. After graduating in piano, she won a national Gin’ei/Shigin competition in 2011 and has since expanded her work as a lyricist, composer, producer, and multi-platform performer.
Beyond WagakkiBand, she is also active with the acoustic unit Hanafugetsu (華風月) and continues to build a distinct solo catalogue. In 2024 she published her first book “Uta Iroha (唄いろは)” and appeared as a headliner at Germany’s Main Matsuri Japan Festival. In 2025, she founded her own shigin school “Gin-dō Suzuhana-ryū (吟道鈴華流)”, beginning official activities as its first headmaster under the name Keisei (鈴華慶晟).
